An interview with coach of the Suisse team

Did you take part in such a championship before?
-Yes, two years ago we took part in a championship which was hosted by Holland where we won the 8th place. It is worthy to notice that the organisation of the championship in Ukraine is higher, however the level of organization needs to be improved.

If you were to organize the Championship, what would you change?
-I would try to accommodate the teams not that far away from the stadiums and from each other. That would make the distribution of information to the players much easier.

What are your impressions after the weekend?
-We very much enjoyed the tour around Kiev and all the sightseeing places that we visited. The most exciting of which was the cruise ship.

Who gets the bronze…

The destiny of the bronze has now been established! The team from Ivano-Frankivsk has done everything possible to win the game for the third place. In spite of the rain, the teams showed us an amazing play. Nothing can scare away the real football fans thus they showed good support to their teams. The weather made the match even more exciting. The first half was less productive than the second one – the only time the Ukrainians scored was from a penalty shot. In the second half the Germans managed to equalize and before the extra time the score was 2:2. In the extra time the Ukrainian team turned out to be more successful in terms of goals scored. Thus the final score is 5:3 – a beautiful win for Ukraine.

FINAL

Best among equals

Finally today at different stadiums of our town we could observe the half final of the VI European Universities Football Championship. The dream of the two participating teams came true. MAUP (UKR) and Caen University (FRA) are in the final! Congratulations!
It was a real challenge for the players of the French team to win against the team of the University of Bochum. The level at which both teams played was equal, as a result the final score of the game was decided by a series of penalty shots. Thus, Caen University versus the University of Bochum – 6:5.
